Dr. Partha Sarathi Das has more than 18 years of professional experience and is currently serving as Library & Information Officer at the National Library, Govt. of India, Ministry of Culture, after qualifying the Union Public Service Commission in 2011. Earlier, he had worked as Senior Library & Information Assistant at the Botanical Survey of India, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India, Sikkim Himalayan Regional Centre (SHRC), Gangtok and Central Library, Hqrs. (Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden) for more than six years.
He is a “Public Library Innovator” of the International Network of Emerging Library Innovators (INELI) India (A Public Library leadership Program implemented by MS Swaminathan Research Foundation and supported by Bill & Milinda Gates Foundation) and Mentor of INELI India and South Asia (Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) He visited British Library, London and Libraries in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Life Member of many associations related library development.He successfully completed the round 2016 B the International Librarians Network Peer Mentoring Programme from August to December 2016.

Publications : He has published around 39 publications includes journal articles, conference paper and book chapter. Attended various national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and delivered invited lectures and radio talks in AIR, participated as member of panel for professional discussions and acted as resource person for workshops. He is the co-author of the book “The Story of Steel Bridge: the Howrah Bridge A Testimony of Indo-British Co-operation in Engineering Field” which is acclaimed by National and International Reviewers. His recent edited book “Ram Mohun Roy: Herald of New Modern Age” is published by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj in 2022.
Awards & Achievements: He was awarded the Indian Librarian Pride Award -2022 (ILPA) by Anecdote Publishing House to one among the top 75 pioneer library professionals of the Nation under the aegis of Azadi ka Amirt Mahotsav for distinguished extraordinary contribution in the development of Librarianship in India and abroad, awarded the Best Library Professional Award by Central Government Library Association in 2019. He was awarded the Association for Library Collections Technical Services (ALCTS), American Library Association Online Course Grant for Library Professionals from Developing Countries by the American Library Association.
